Rochdale Cricket Club
Rochdale Cricket Club’s Australian pro providing youth coaching
through sponsorship from Recruitment Solutions NW.
Rochdale Cricket Club have announced the continuation of a 12-year sponsorship with
local finance and accountancy recruiter, Recruitment Solutions NW, with the Club
targeting to increase support and youth coaching thanks to the relationship.
The Club - one of the oldest organisations in the Rochdale borough - is determined to
demonstrate its status as a pillar of the community by nurturing young sporting talent in the
region through giving them access to the Club’s pro player, 26-year-old Australian batsman
Henry Hunt.
Hunt is currently spending time at the Lancashire League club in the lead-up to the new
season starting for his home South Australia club, where he opens the batting with a record
of 2,400 runs in first class cricket, at an average of 34 with a top score of 134. Hunt boasts
an impressive one-day game record too, averaging 41 with a highest score of 101. 2023
marks Hunt’s second spell in England, with this being his first time in the North as turns out
for Rochdale Cricket Club whilst also assisting with junior coaching too.
Hunt’s role with Rochdale has been made possible through sponsorship from local
accounting and finance recruitment agency, Recruitment Solutions NW, with the business
holding a longstanding relationship with the Club. Sponsorship from long-standing business
has seen the provision of a car to the Club through a collaboration with Premier Kia
Rochdale.
Of the importance in continuing the sponsorship for the club, Director at Recruitment
Solutions (NW), Gavin Reynolds, said:
We’re really proud to support Rochdale Cricket Club again. This sponsorship should allow
them to continue the great work they already do in promoting grassroots sport for our
region, as well as contribute to the infrastructure the Club already has.
“It’s this infrastructure that has made attracting a player like Henry possible, so the Club
should be very proud of that and excited for what he can bring to both the team and in
attracting young aspiring cricketers to the sport.”
Club chairman at Rochdale, Ian Gilbertson, added:
“It’s a privilege to have recruitment solutions as our main sponsor. Without their kindness,
Rochdale Cricket Club would not be able to invest the time and effort in producing local
Rochdale cricketers.
We would also like to say a very special thank you to Premier Kia for providing Henry with a car for
the upcoming season.
