Rochdale Cricket Club
Rochdale Cricket Club held its Seniors Presentation Evening on Friday 17th September 2021.
The evening started with a presentation to outgoing Chairman, Mark Reynolds.
The new Chairman, Ian Gilbertson, thanked everyone for their efforts this season and made a few announcements about the plans that are in place for the progression of players and the club.
A charity event was held for Springhill Hospice, in memory of RCC’s Super Fan Kieran Stansfield, who passed away earlier this year. Kieran’s family were there, and also paid tribute to him. Kieran is missed by everyone at Rochdale Cricket Club, and future charity events are planned in his memory.
The awards were next up. The awards were presented by Rochdale Hornets players, Paul Brearley, Zac Baker and Joe Taira
Third Team awards went to Harry Butterworth – most runs, and Adil Awan – most wickets
Second Team awards went to Kabir Ahmed – most runs, and Robin Jackson – most wickets
First Team awards went to Andrew Dawson – most runs, and Ste Oddy – most wickets
Andrew Dawson also won Player Of The Year, as chosen by the 2021 overseas pro, Sean Whitehead.
Ste Oddy was awarded the Emily Bannister Trophy, which was presented Emily’s Grandad and Brother
Paul Butterworth was presented with Clubman Of The Year Trophy.
1st Team Skipper Jamie Roche was presented with the Tom Hardman T20 Trophy
Special award went to Jacob Pauline for achieving over 1000 runs during the season.
